Comfy-Cozy

All curled up on the

Old, overstuffed, organdy sofa.

Dog laying on my feet,

Heating them.

Hugged by the huge, blue afghan blanket,

Listening to the fire in the fireplace

Crackle and spark in the middle of December.

Smells of my favorite dinner,

(Mom's making it!)

Steak, corn, and hot, buttered mashed potatoes.

She brought me a cup of cocoa;

I didn't even have to ask.

Lifting the steaming cup to my lips,

She puts the stereo on my favorite channel

And hands me the remote.

Snuggling into the blanket,

Feeling toasty warm,

Not wanting to get up.

"Dinner," Mom calls.

Got to get up.

Fragrant whiffs of food pull me

into the dining room.

Boy dinner tastes great!

This has been the best way to spend the day.
